In this book, Mr. Marsigit explain about general guidelines and specific guidelines for teaching mathematics in junior high school   that can be used  teacher  as a guide in learning mathematics.

In the general guidelines outlined on the nature of school mathematics and mathematics learning, development of syllabus guidelines mathematics courses in junior high school.

On the nature of school mathematics and learning mathematics it self is described in more detail about the characteristics of school mathematics and their implications in learning, learner characteristics and their implications in learning, students' affective aspect hierarchy, the development of psychomotor aspects of the student.

While the guidelines for the development of mathematics syllabus in junior high school more emphasison how to develop a syllabus, which is a difficulty for many teachers. In this section describes about understanding the syllabus, syllabus components, standards of competence and basic competence, classification of material and subject matter learning mathematics, mathematics learning strategies in junior high school (face to face, learning experience,the determination of time allocation, resource materials, the learning unit development), development of evaluation tools of learning mathematics in junior high school (test type, test instruments), the suggested syllabus presentation format, and given also the example of lesson plan (RPP).

            In particular guideline, Mr. Marsiigit give examples of the use of Competency Standards,Competency, Basic Basic Materials, Learning Activities, Indicators, Assessment,Allocation of Time, Resources / Materials / Tools on each chapter on semesters I and II that is expected of teachers can more easily understand
